Albert Hien has been represented by the Walter Storms Galerie in Munich for more than 40 years and is being shown in his 15th solo exhibition.
During this time, he has created numerous site-specific environments and sculptures for large companies or public spaces, most recently with a 17-meter-high interior design for a historic clock tower in Munich. In recent years, Hien has mainly worked with light and neon and is currently being honored with a survey exhibition at the Kunstmuseum Celle with the Robert Simon Collection.

Albert Hien was represented twice at the documenta in Kassel with large sculptural works (documenta VII and VIII). In 1985 he took part in the German contribution to the São Paulo Biennial, curated by Armin Zweite. Major museum exhibitions have been held at the Städtisches Museum Abteiberg, Mönchengladbach, the Josef-Haubrich Kunsthalle in Cologne, the Centro de Arte Reina Sofía, Madrid, and the Städtische Galerie im Lenbachhaus in Munich, which has several works by Hien in its collection.
