Maurizio Nannucci is one of the world’s most significant neon-artists. He combines language, light and space to create poetic situations. His ‘you can imagine the opposite’ on the face of the Städtische Galerie im Lenbachhaus, Munich, is exemplary. Since 1965 Maurizio Nannucci (born 1939) participated in all of the important exhibitions about ‘text and picture’. He was also part of the documenta 8 and several Biennales in Venice, Sydney Sao Paulo or Istanbul. International houses like the Villa Arson Nizza, the Kunstmuseum Aarhus, the Sprengel Museum Hannover, the Wiener Secession or not too long ago the Fondation Beyeler showed his work.
In collaboration with well-known architects like Mario Botta, UBS Basel, Ulrike Lauber, Vereinte München, Stefan Braunfels, Alsenblock Berlin exceptional ‘art within architecture’-projects were realized. A bibliographic overview was published in 1999 on the occasion of his exhibition at the European Patent Office Munich.
