Gerhard Merz’s exhibitions are installations with pictorial depictions of different thought processes.
He questions the literary standards and testimonies of the great thinkers and masters. In the process he creates works that have a classical, modest beauty.
This 4th solo-exhibition at Schellingstraße takes you from the early ink drawings on graph paper of the ’70ies, through four monochrom black squares and on to his latest, large-sized painting with thrown colours, “Rissa in Galleria”.
On May 25 Gerhard Merz had his 70th birthday.
