Walter Storms Galerie shows together with Esther Schipper works by Gabriel Kuri. The artist’s oeuvre involves various media, including sculpture, collage and installation, often using recycled natural, industrial and mass-produced elements (e.g. shells, insulating foam or soda cans) to create eloquent and impressive works. Kuri’s works often contain traces of past human activity, such as empty bottles, cigarette butts or ticket stubs, which act as symbols of time, energy or means of payment used – a recurring motif in the artist’s work.
