From 2001 to 2022, Albert Hien was professor of sculpture in the art education program at the Munich Art Academy. His students, who were admitted every year, each created a plaster portrait of a fellow student as an initial assignment in their first semester. This resulted in an impressive collection of 123 “plaster heads”, which are now being shown in their entirety for the first time in an impressive installation at Walter Storms Galerie in Ismaninger Strasse.
As a friendly guest artist, Albert Hien has invited the photographer Michael Wesely, who now lives in Berlin, with four of his typical long-term photographs showing scenes from the Munich Art Academy.
