The shoes that artists wear in their studios reflect their paths and accompany their work as silent witnesses. Olivia Berckemeyer has collected these shoes over the last few years and cast them in an elaborate process. Over 90 pairs of white and black glazed procelain shoes were created.
Preserving traces and documenting space and time is also a basic theme in Caro Jost’s work. The two artists have now joined forces to present the exhibition WALKING IN MY SHOES at Walter Storms Galerie.
The 31 pairs of shoes are arranged on an X-shaped runwalk, surrounded by images of their former wearers.
