Following his acclaimed installation in the Hungarian Pavilion at the 2024 Venice Biennale, we are now representing Márton Nemes and presenting his first solo exhibition in Germany. His works operate at the intersection of painting, sculpture, and spatial installation, transcending media boundaries to unfold as an immersive Gesamtkunstwerk. Deeply embedded in techno subculture, Nemes’ visual language is characterized by a dynamic fragmentation of pictorial space, creating a trance-like effect. His compositions draw on the aesthetics and lighting of contemporary club culture, transporting viewers into pulsating, color-intense spheres. In addition to traditional painting, Nemes incorporates materials such as steel, automotive lacquer, projections, lights, and speakers. This interplay of light, movement, and sound generates a multisensory experience that dissolves pictorial space and manifests as a kinetic, architectural installation.
