Shannon Finley (*1974 in Canada) has been represented by our gallery since 2012. His current presentation is based on works that were shown with great press and public response at the Mies van der Rohe Haus in Berlin in the first half of 2023, supplemented by recent paintings and, for the first time, works on paper.

In his traditional painterly visual language, Finley seeks to engage with the digital world. He does not use brushes to create his works, but instead employs spatulas, adhesive tapes, and stencils. Through intuition, a captivating interplay of geometric details, interlocking forms, overlapping layers, and a tangle of inseparable fragments emerges. The colors surpass each other in vibrant brilliance or radiate even in deep black. Unique in the conception and realization of his works, Shannon Finley is one of the leading representatives of contemporary painting.
